What is the working principle of the plywood sanding machine?

Nov 22, 2024

Plywood sander is a kind of equipment used for sanding and polishing the surface of plywood, which can make the surface of plywood more smooth and uniform, and meet the requirements of subsequent processing or use. Its working principle is mainly as follows:

Drum sanding

The wood is sanded by a drum wrapped with emery cloth (paper), which can not only rotate but also move axially. When working, the plywood is sanded through the emery cloth on the surface of the drum under the action of the roller or conveyor belt to reduce the surface roughness of the workpiece. The single-roll sander mostly uses manual feeding, and the multi-roll type is fed into the workpiece by the roller and the upper and lower feed roller or conveyor belt.

Belt sanding

The endless ring sand belt is tensioned on two or three belt wheels to drive the sand belt for continuous movement, and a tension wheel is also slightly warped to make the sand belt produce transverse movement. Plywood is placed on a fixed or moving workbench, under the movement of the sand belt, the surface contact friction with the sand belt, so as to achieve the purpose of sanding, broadband sanding machine has high efficiency, can ensure the processing accuracy, the sand belt replacement is simple, suitable for large plywood sanding.

Disk sanding

Using sandpaper (cloth) on the end face of the rotating disc to sand the workpiece, there are vertical and horizontal, single disc and double disc, the workpiece is fed by manual or mechanical. Through the high-speed rotation of the disk, the sandpaper (cloth) and the surface of the plywood produce relative motion, and then achieve the sanding of the plywood.

Eccentric shaft swinging sanding

The motor rotates the eccentric shaft so that the oscillating plate mounted with sandpaper or emery cloth moves in a circular motion along a specific track, thus achieving sanding of the working surface. The sandpaper or emery cloth is secured to the rubber sponge pad by spring clamping devices at both ends of the plate, ensuring smooth and firm sanding operations.
