The working principle of the woodworking rotary cutting machine is mainly to clamp the wood segment through the clamping shaft and drive it to rotate, while the rotary knife does the feed movement in the vertical direction, so as to spin the wood segment into a veneer. The details are as follows:
1. Block fixing and rotation:
• The left and right clamps clamp the two ends of the wood segment, and the clamps provide sufficient clamping force to ensure that the wood segment does not loosen or shift during rotation.
• The clamp shaft is driven by the power device, which drives the wood segment to rotate at a certain speed, usually in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction. The rotation of the block provides the power and the basis of circular motion for the rotary cutting.
2. Feed movement of rotary knife:
• A rotary knife mounted on the cutter bed with a blade parallel to the card shaft axis.
• The cutter head is driven by the feed mechanism and moves in the vertical direction of the clamping shaft axis. The speed and direction of the feed movement need to be precisely controlled to ensure a uniform thickness of the rotary cut veneer. In the process of rotary cutting, the rotary knife continuously cuts into the wood segment. As the wood segment rotates, the rotary knife gradually cuts the surface of the wood segment into a continuous veneer strip.
3. Board thickness control:
• Whether it is constant speed rotary cutting or constant linear speed rotary cutting, in order to obtain a certain thickness of the veneer, it is necessary to keep the feed rate of the cutter bed unchanged with each turn of the card shaft, and the size of the feed rate is equal to the nominal thickness of the veneer.
• Boards of different thicknesses can be obtained by changing the feed rate of the cutter bed. For example, when you need to screw thick veneer, increase the feed of the cutter bed; When you need to cut thin veneers, reduce the feed of the knife bed.
4. Adaptation to the change of wood segment diameter: During the spinning process, the diameter of the wood segment will gradually decrease. For the card-free CNC rotary cutting machine, the displacement sensor feedback is usually used. When the diameter of the wood segment is detected, the feedback is sent to the control system, and the control system then adjusts the feed speed of the cutter bed to ensure the uniform thickness of the board. For a rotary cutter, the feed mechanism may automatically adjust the feed speed to accommodate changes in block diameter based on experience or preset procedures.
