Industry Overview
Known as the "Plywood Capital of Southern China," Guigang leads the region in wood processing scale, with over 4,200 wood enterprises (including individual businesses) generating over ¥50 billion in annual output. The sector employs more than 200,000 people, and two of its industrial parks have been recognized as National Forestry Industry Demonstration Zones.
In the first half of 2023, timber production reached 2.93 million cubic meters (+23.3% YoY), with forestry output hitting ¥1.81 billion (+13.4% YoY).

Green Transformation Initiatives
1. Eco-Friendly Innovations
At Company A, automated production lines manufacture formaldehyde-free multilayer wood boards featuring:
- Zero formaldehyde & benzene emissions
- Fire resistance & anti-warping
- ENF-grade (formaldehyde-free standard) certification
After upgrading in October 2023, daily production capacity reached 13,000 sheets, meeting strong market demand.
2. Cleaner Production Breakthroughs
Guigang's plywood sector was selected for a national pilot program on cleaner production. Company B introduced South China's first thermal purification board production line, utilizing:
- 105°C heat treatment (200-minute process)
- HENF-grade (formaldehyde-free for heating) standards
- Green-level TVOC certification
The first line produces 3,000 sheets daily, with full capacity (4 lines) expected to generate ¥400 million annually.
Policy Support & Future Outlook
The local government drives industry upgrades through:
- Incentives for green tech adoption
- Support for eco-friendly production initiatives
- Development of national-level industrial parks
- Full-chain optimization (seedling cultivation → logging → processing)
Guigang continues to align with sustainable development principles, reinforcing its leadership in eco-friendly wood processing and boosting regional economic growth.
