Russia's sawnwood exports increased by 10.4% in 2025, with China and Central Asian nations emerging as the largest buyers, according to data released by the country's Federal Forestry Agency.

The agency reported that demand for Russian wood products has risen significantly compared to the previous year. Official statistics from the National Forestry Information System show that exports to friendly countries have surpassed 18 million cubic meters since the beginning of the year, up from 16.3 million cubic meters during the same period in 2024.

The data indicates that Russian processed wood now reaches 41 countries worldwide, with China, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan constituting the primary export markets. This export growth reflects continuing shifts in global timber trade patterns and the successful reorientation of Russian wood flows toward alternative markets.
