According to the data released by the China Wood-Based Panel Industry Report (2023), the global plywood production in 2022 will reach 239.86 million m³, and the plywood production capacity is distributed in 113 countries and regions on 6 continents. However, the global production and consumption of wood-based panels are mainly concentrated in Europe, Asia and North America, with Africa and Oceania accounting for a very small proportion.
The countries and regions with larger production include China, India, the United States, Indonesia, Russia, Japan and other countries and regions.
As the world's main plywood production area, China's production will reach 187.20 million m³ in 2022, accounting for about 78.05% of the global production; followed by India, with a production of 10.06 million m³, accounting for about 4.19% of the global production; the United States ranks third in production, with a production of 9.25 million m³, accounting for about 3.86% of the global production.
In 2022, my country's plywood production and production capacity are basically matched. By the end of 2022, there will be more than 10,800 plywood product manufacturers in China, with a total production capacity of about 208 million cubic meters per year; the average production capacity of enterprises is about 19,300 cubic meters per year. There are more than 350 plywood product manufacturers in China with an annual production capacity of more than 100,000 cubic meters, including nearly 150 large-scale production enterprises and enterprise groups, with a total production capacity of nearly 27 million cubic meters per year, accounting for about 13.0% of the total production capacity; among them, 7 production enterprises and enterprise groups have an annual production capacity of more than 500,000 cubic meters.
