Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam officially issued Decision No. 2491/QD-BCT, announcing the imposition of provisional anti-dumping duties on certain fiberboard products originating from Thailand and China. The tariff rates range from 2.59% to 39.88%. This move follows a comprehensive investigation and assessment by the relevant Vietnamese authorities, conducted in accordance with the Law on Foreign Trade Management, to determine whether dumped imports from these countries have caused harm to Vietnam's domestic industry.

In its preliminary findings, the Ministry of Industry and Trade stated that fiberboard products from China and Thailand were being dumped and posed a significant threat of substantial damage to Vietnam's domestic fiberboard industry. Notably, since the initiation of the anti-dumping investigation, the import volume of the products in question has not decreased but instead increased significantly, surging by more than 52% compared to the same period last year. This unusual trend has further intensified the pressure on the domestic industry.
