The latest data from the General Administration of Customs shows that in February 2025, China imported 3.6 million tons of wood and its products, an increase of 3.5% year-on-year. From January to February, the cumulative imports reached 6.78 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 11.2%.
(1)In February, China imported 2.62 million cubic meters of logs, an increase of 6.6% year-on-year. From January to February, the cumulative import volume was 4.9 million cubic meters, a year-on-year decrease of 10.7%.
(2) In February, China imported 1.89 million cubic meters of sawn timber, a year-on-year decrease of 5.7%. From January to February, the cumulative import volume was 3.55 million cubic meters, a year-on-year decrease of 12.4%.
In February, China exported 780,000 tons of wood and its products, a year-on-year decrease of 0.6%. From January to February, the cumulative export volume reached 223 tons, representing a year-on-year growth of 12.5%.
(1)In February, China exported 40,000 tons of household or decorative wood products, a year-on-year decrease of 16.5%. From January to February, the cumulative export volume reached 140,000 tons, representing a year-on-year growth of 7.9%.
(2) In February, China exported 620,000 cubic meters of plywood and similar multi-layer boards, a year-on-year decrease of 41.9%. From January to February, the cumulative export volume was 1.82 million cubic meters, a year-on-year decrease of 12.6%.
