In a press release, Segezha stated that the planned cluster will include a processing facility for consumer packaging products, as well as production and distribution centers for birch plywood and planed wood products. The project aims to expand Segezha's presence in China and other Asia-Pacific markets while reducing logistics costs and simplifying international payment procedures.

Historically, Segezha has exported a significant portion of its products to China. In the first nine months of 2025, sales in the Chinese market accounted for 34% of the company's total revenue from paper products, 77% from timber, and 38% from plywood. Currently, 92% of Segezha's paper packaging products are sold within Russia, with the remainder distributed to other CIS countries.
